American Legion Boys & Girls State is among the most respected and selective educational programs of government instruction for U.S. high-school students. American Legion District 22 Baseball is a variety of amateur baseball played by 13-19 year olds in the greater San Diego County. Throughout North America, more than 3,500 teams participate each year.
The American Legion Oratorical Contest exists to develop deeper knowledge and appreciation for the U.S. Constitution among high school students. Since 1938, the program has presented participants with an academic speaking challenge that teaches important leadership qualities, the history of our nation’s laws, the ability to think and speak clearly, and an understanding of the duties, responsibilities, rights and privileges of American citizenship. The program has featured numerous politicians and prominent contestants over the years, including former presidential candidate Alan Keyes, national television commentator and talk radio host Lou Dobbs, and Vice-President of the United States Mike Pence.
We have Legionaries who volunteer regularly at the Fallbrook Food Pantry. The Fallbrook Food Pantry has served low -income and disadvantaged families since 1991. Available to the community 5 days a week, they offer a well-balanced selection of food, promoting wellness for every individual in our community. Programs support an average of 25,000 household visits annually, distributing nearly
1,000,000 pounds of food to those in-need in the greater Fallbrook area.
